And if you add a blend mode for overlaying images you get a even better and nicer effect (at least for me)

On the first page, ThreeDee have shown this beautiful and well done tiling without any distortion that looks like a room filled with the tiled image

How would you make this ? Is there a filter already that can make this ?

Some others filters distort much the image, and is not at all like this clean and well done, and have even seen all filters from voldemort, and have many similar, but none like this one.

I'm pretty sure this can be done with just 30% of the components, but here's my take on it.
I only had about an hour to work on this, as my computer needs to be painted blue and dumped in the sea smile:evil: so there arent any real controls.

WOW!! You have done it and perfectly well, exactly the same as the example shown!!

Thanks very much for making this.

Here attached below I have updated it a little putting

* the option to have 4 or 8 images in the walls (you must check or uncheck both boxes for it to work right)
* added some new controls, and a scale for the back wall (in case the image is not perfectly square)
* added some more presets.

Be aware that the controls are specific for 4 or 8, so if you are using the 8 version, you MUST use the 8 version controls.

What happens with your computer ?

Honestly, I don't really know... Every random amount of minutes the computer freezes for about 10 minutes, and the mouse moves only about twice a minute. Even NumLock only changes state once or twice a minute.
CPU is around 6% used, and Physical memory between 10% to 60%, depends on what I'm doing.
All I know is the HDD light lights up and stays on for the whole 10 minutes.
Then it's all back to normal for a while, till it happens exactly the same, over and over.
As far as I can tell, I don't have any antivirus, defragger, etc. scheduled to run automatically ever, they're all on manual, on demand settings.

Why you are having this many problems ?

Because I'm a too damn lazy. I should format and reinstall Windows, that's the healthy thing to do once every couple of <Days \ Weeks \ Months \ Years> (depending on user preference, and how bad your copy of windows is).

I have seen this Music video where there is showing some kind of checkered small rooms with red and white squares and thought that the above well done filter by Morgantao could be updated to show this kind of checkered rooms.

So here it is with 45 presets as examples of what can be done (and much more making other different combinations)

If you fill all the color controls available with the same image you will have the same result as the filter above.

Also it would be possible to delete all the square of the same color in the checker pattern (for example all the white) in Photoshop and then in a layer below you could put another image or texture, so it could look that the room is in space or holed.

Serious Lens Flares

Just about the most traditional use of FF I can think of, but until I gather enough reason to get Video CoPilot's awesome Optical Flares, thought I might make one of my own.

As for the deep end, I had the idea that you could render out the tracking coordinates of a light source from After Effects as two values (R and G channels for instance) and use them as the X and Y inputs for FF. Thus you could batch animate the Lens Flare to follow an object.

Bezier Alphabets

I might make this one available as a 4.0 snippet, if there is interest in it, to make it easier to demonstrate results for text-oriented filters.

Instant architecture

Cool and well done smile:) smile:hammer: good filter forging to be able to get this result

Does this allows to have a seamless tiling?
Or the components used does not allow it?

I think that this could be used as a base source for then after in Photoshop or another similar graphic software be able to fill the generated shapes with colors or textures.

Yes, it tiles seamlessly.

Done mostly with basic noises and thresholds, could've been done with FF1.

Yeah, and it just dawned on me while looking at those that pink IS the intersection between the lowest and the highest visible frequencies! Wow! Never thought of it that way.

WOW! This is a great and cool amount of beautiful and interesting patterns and made in a simple and basic way, and that has a great potential to be used for blending this patterns with images and could be used in other ways too.

Thanks very much for sharing this filter I like it much

Here I have made a simple modification by adding at the end an invert component as this will double the possible patterns result as it does not look the same when inverted.

I have also added 30 new presets that I have done, so it now has 50 presets!

For using it more you can choose a preset and then use the variation slider or the size slider to modify it, or you can also sel ect another noise type fr om same preset and see what happens, or to make new patterns use the next variant button and see what you can find.

I am already making my own filters but it takes a lot of time for me to make them, and want to make them right, and have a good level of quality and not make something poor and average. Also there my very big problem that I do not KEEP AND CONTINUE making a filter from start to the the end, and is something is very hard for me to control and to do unless is really needed and have to do it.

I'm just poking you around lol. I just think anybody can make tons of additional presets, especially when the filter's base design is well established like this. It's good stuff anyway. And I'm feeling mischievous. smile;)

I was thinking of modifying the snippet a bit just to remove the brightness component for speed. (Hint: use a math node).

I should have embedded the actual windows buttons and stuff to make it precise, now it is more of a curiosity filter.

Just now I tested making pixel-based images with the help of a tiny script which gives the scale factor for one pixel. The first result: Rulers and Guides.

As the previews reveal, it is definitely pixel-based, not relative to image dimensions.
