I always have a few filters lying around that I have just never brought myself to submit, either because I felt that they needed more tweaking, because they looked terrible with the sample images, because they only looked good in a terrible narrow set of circumstances, or because they just never quite lived up to my expectations.
My favorite of my no-shows, so far, is my Cloisonne Bauble filter. It takes your input image, and tries to turn it into a cloisonne bead. It's way too slow, it looks like a total mess on the sample images, and the wire still needs a ton of cleanup, but it still has so much potential, if I can just get it there:
Should I keep working on that one?
Do you have any beautiful disasters to share?

I have some filters that I dare to submit to the library over quality concerns, but I also use filterforge quite extensively in films and games and other media. Yup, this is why My Filters category for me is a huge mess!! I have just a pile load of specific-use filters meant for multiple projects just piling up and not having anywhere to go.
Just to start things off here's my silly glitch filter which just adds damage to your lovely picture.

I wonder what I was thinking when I made some of these filters. I swear, sometimes I just make them and do nothing about it. Here's something I made for fun but I never submitted it to the library. I actually quite love the results.

And now... for the one filter I love so much that I won't submit it. Actually part of the reason why I haven't submitted it is because its a very very slow filter.

This is a cool experimental filter I made that makes maps for Sculpted Prims in Second Life. It creates a 3D plane, and a matching texture.
For those who don't know how sculpted Prims work in SL, they are a kind of displacement map in 3 dimensions, with red green and blue giving the X Y Z co-ordinates. Release the Mongoose!

soho, is this a filter made by CorvusCroax that has not been submitted yet ?
Very good and nice example. It looks very good and interesting with the different dropshadows and bevel.
