It would be very good if there could be an option to be able to copy and paste presets from one filter to another in FF 6.0, obviously both filters should be the same with the same components, I mean that it must be a copy of the same filter and of course not to be able to copy to another different filter.

It would be only for custom user-created preset and not for factory presets

When I am making filters I make different versions of the same filter, and sometimes when experimenting I get wrong presets, or they are destroyed with some bad setting and you can´t recover them, but I have the original presets in another copy of the same filter.

Also happens that I may have added custom presets to a copy of a library filter, then it gets updated and made better, but I can not use the new updated filter with my custom presets unless they are already in the original downloaded filter

There is no copy presets option available in FF 5.0 and so I wonder:

Could there be a possible way to copy only factory presets from one filter to another?

Have anyone tried it?

I have thought that maybe it could be done opening the original filter in an XML editor and search for the presets information, copy it and then open the destiny filter, and paste this presets XML data inside the filter and they would be included as presets of that filter.

But really do not know exactly if this may work and how do it correctly

I have tried to do it, and then after adding the XML presets, FF does not recognize the filter and give errors.

This text below comes from the Presets Help page

Presets are handled differently for user-created filters (those located in the My Filters category) and filters downloaded from the Filter Library.

For user-created filters, all presets are editable and are stored inside the filter file (.ffxml), so if you send the file to a friend, all presets will be sent with the filter as well.

For the filters downloaded from the Filter Library, however, the presets that come with the filter are called 'factory presets' and are not editable – only the presets added by the user are editable, they are marked with a 'dog-ear'. For these filters, the factory presets are stored inside the filter file, and the user-added presets are stored separately.

Please if you have any other possible way that you could know to copy presets from one filter to another would be very good to know about it

Thanks very much for any possible help
