So, recently I've found myself really wishing that I had the two following wishilist items. They've both already been posted, but I wanted to add my voice of support for them. (Particularly since the mac version is done now. smile:D )

1) Self Illumination Map: previous thread
Most 3d programs and game engines have a self-illumination map as part of their material definition. It would be great if the FF surface node had a glow map in addition to the diffuse, bump, reflection, specular exponent, and metalicity maps. The glow map would just add over top of the surface-rendered image, (probably using linear light?), and so it would show up even when you turn down the lighting.

This probably wouldn't be too difficult to do, and would make FF a stronger product, particularly for people doing 3d models. Also, we could make some nicer looking filters, right out of FF. For example, a glow channel would be useful for things like glowing lava, lights on buildings and things like that. Here's are a couple nice filters which probably ought to have something like a glow map, if you were going to use this as a 3d texture. http://www.filterforge.com/filters/1318.html

Also, other programs (*Ahem*)similar to FF have this.

2) Export Render Maps, All At Once: previous thread

It would be a great time saver if you could just push a button and have FF render out each of the used maps on your surface type filter (ie rendered, diffuse, bump, normal, reflection, spec exponent, metallic, etc. as separate files, without having to do it manually. Again, many programs have something like this, and it seems strange that a program like FF, which is so great for mass-image production, doesn't.

Ideally, there would be an interface in the settings menu where you could describe how each channel is named, for example: file_b.png for bump files, etc. (Some people are VERY picky about naming, so they would need to set it to whatever works for them.) Photoshop's file/scripts/image processor utility has a good interface for this, btw.

I realize that you can set up this sort of thing using the script editor, but frankly it takes longer to set up than just doing it manually.

btw: I think I'm going to try to use this program to see if I could set up a good automation pipeline. http://www.jitbit.com/macrorecorder.aspx
