– How long have you been using Filter Forge? How did you learn about it?

The real question is actually how one small farmer finds himself in the graphic design area. It is very simple. During my college studies I wanted to spend my free time studying graphic design online because I have always been interested in art, and at the same time earn some extra money.

For the first two years of my professional work I only used the Adobe toolkit. After that period I opened my Behance profile for the first time, started following the most famous artists in the world, and I accidentally discovered that many of them use Filter Forge. I've always wondered what tools they use to create such masterpieces. That's how it all started. I can proudly say that I have been using the Filter Forge for full 5 years.

– Did you use it for cover art from the beginning? And by the way – why cover art?

Yes. Since I started to do cover art I've almost always used it, because specifically in this type of work Filter Forge offers much strength, playfulness and emotion.

Why cover art? As I mentioned, I am a big fan of the electronic music scene. I noticed there are many talented young people whose music I listen to, love and appreciate. And I thought how good it would be for that specific melody (especially EDM) and their digital online editions to be supported with some visual identity. So I wanted to specialize as a graphic designer who would support them.

– What are your favorite filters?

Believe it or not, I don't have a favorite filter. I use one or another in almost every artwork. So far I have made a collection that roughly counts over 1000 different filters, and some of them I haven't tried yet. In general, it's important to me that the filter has something that can contribute to the abstraction which is a common occurrence for most of my artworks.

In my workflow it is common to use Filter Forge at the end when the artistic concept is complete. I use it to add details that create an abstraction in every my artwork.

– Have you ever tried to make your own filters? If yes, which ones?

I'm a little ashamed that I've been working with such a good tool for so long, and I still haven't made a single filter of my own. Honestly, besides my main profession I have never devoted enough time to creating my own filters, but I hope that it will change in the future. ;)

– What filters and features are you missing in Filter Forge?

According to my needs I think this tool currently does not have any significant drawbacks. You are always improving it and so far I had no problems using it. I would recommend it to any designer, from amateur to professional.
