The Order of Controls dialog allows you to customize the default sorting order of the controls added by control components to the Settings tab in Filter Controls. The dialog is accessible by choosing Filter > Order of Controls from the Filter Editor menu.
When the order of controls is set to Automatic, they are sorted by control type first and then alphabetically within each type. The types are sorted as follows:
- Color controls
- Grayscale controls
- Slider controls
- Angle controls
- IntSlider controls
- Value controls
- Checkbox controls
- Curve controls
When the order of controls is set to Custom, the controls can be moved up or down the list using the corresponding buttons or hotkeys. Note that the list shows only those control components that are connected to the Result component, directly or indirectly.
You can also add separators to divide a long list of controls into groups. Separators can look like simple straight lines or can have a label – for instance, a heading of a control group. Select a separator on the list to fill in or clear the label. You can have up to 100 separators in a single filter.
